Incheon

Hey guys, sorry, haven't written for a while. This week was not really interesting. Was sick the whole time and even stayed home from work on Tuesday. I hate being sick. And I swear, I will not go to a Korean doctor any more, except for a real emergency of course. I will try to cure my sickness without medication and antibiotics. And actually it has worked pretty well so far this week. I feel a lot better today.
So tonight right after work I will go to Incheon again.
I met a Canadian girl (Elisabeth) there last weekend. Her sister will get married to a Korean guy soon. But the couple already left for Canada to meet her family. Elisabeth has been here now for about 1 1/2 months and wanted to stay much longer. But she is pretty alone now and consequently she is going to leave already in two weeks, unfortunately. Finally I thought I had found somebody I can spend some time with. Not that you are not enough Jang-hee! Don't worry. But you know, sometimes I would like to have some girl around to talk to.
Well, anyway. I thought, since I am in Incheon now already quite often and since I will study there the next half year, I looked for some information about the city. It's the third biggest city in Korea after Seoul and Busan.
Check out Wikipedia!

Incheon is sometimes regarded as part of the greater Seoul metropolitan area due to the close distance of the capital, and the fact that the Seoul Metropolitan Subway is linked to the Incheon Subway system. Incheon is, however, a major city in its own right. This is recognized politically in that Incheon is a separate jurisdiction from Seoul. Within the city limits incorporate the main international airport for both South Korea and Seoul: Incheon International Airport.

Statistics
Population: 2,466,338(2000)
Area: 964.53 km²
Government: Metropolitan City
Administrative divisions: 8 wards (Gu), 2 counties (Gun)

In Deutsch:

km²
Einwohner: 2.580.775(Stand 1. Januar 2005)
Bevölkerungsdichte: 2.674 Einwohner je km²
Gliederung: 8 Stadtteile (Gu)
2 Landkreise (Gun)
Verwaltungssitz: Incheon

I hope you find this information a little bit interesting. Well, now you know where I will stay the next half year.
Oh, before I forget. Since Elisabeth is leaving soon, I will get one of her English classes. I will teach little children of the age between 12 and 15. Once, maybe twice a week. I will start end of December. I guess I can do that. It will be a little bit stressful to go to Incheon during the week, but otherwise I am just hanging around at home getting bored. I think it will be good for me.
And tonight I will go out with Elisabeth and Ray (American guy) and a class of his. I am sure it will be fun... definitely more fun than staying here in Seoul! Can't wait to move to Incheon.

Haven't posted a characteristic fact about Korea for a while:

Cheating in Korea
If a married partner cheats on his husband, wife, the other partner can sue him in court and the cheater has to go to prison and they get divorced.
Check out this article. Really interesting.

OK, I have to work a little bit now.
Have a nice weekend everybody!!
