Me? A celebrity?
Hey guys,
no, of course I am not! Just kidding.
Well, but who knows, maybe it will not take long and all of Korea will know me... or at least all the cows and dogs in the country. :-)
OK, let me explain myself.
About two months ago I was contacted by some weird guy called Solomon, who has orange hair and thinks he is an artist... He works for an internet broadcasting company. And he asked me if I could work for the agricultural government in Korea. Working means to meet with three other people, the producer, the camera man and a reporter. So far I have done this two times already.
The first time I experienced making some long, long rice cake together with about 1000
children, which all screamed at me. But the craziest thing was certainly, that I had to speak in Korean in front of the camera. Panic!
Well, it was quite ok. Then, last week I had the next date with these three nice people, none of which can speak English... nice! We drove about four hours away from Seoul into nowhereland. There were only cows, dogs and old people... Typical Korean country side. There I had to draw the Korean flag and again pretend to speak fluent Korean... listen to a man telling me something about the Second World War and Korea's fight for independence from Japan.. nodd and pretend to understand every word he says. It was really a hard day and I think I earned every penny of the 150,000won (which is not a lot anyway).
On the way home I had to act as English teacher for the female reporter. I have to admit it was quite a lot of fun and I also learned some Korean meanwhile.
So, soon these two reports will be in the internet. If they are ok I will let you know the link... but only if it's not tooo embarassing. :-)
Who knows... maybe soon I will get some invitations for big Korean TV channels. ... I hope not!
